Methane Emissions by Plants is a Bigger Problem than Once Thought

"Scientists working at the University of Calgary have found that methane emissions by plants could possibly be a bigger issue than once thought. It could be playing a bigger role in global warming than many scientists consider. According to the study when crops are exposed to various environmental factors which are part and parcel of climate change such as increased temperature, ultraviolet-B radiation and drought some plants have shown to increase their methane emissions. Methane is a very potent natural gas which is 23 times more effective at trapping heat than carbon dioxide is."
